David W. Chandler, age 56, of Kansas City, Mo., a former Webb City resident passed away Friday, October 26, 2007. David was born November 19, 1950 in Joplin, Mo. and was raised in Webb City. He was a 1968 graduate of Webb City High School. He was employed with Ford Motor Co. in Kansas City for over 30 years, retiring in 2006 as an Inspector. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, Local #249 in Kansas City. David served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.
David is survived by one son, David A. Chandler and wife Julianne of Chicago, IL, his Mother, Betty Chandler, Webb City, one sister, Barbara Chandler, Webb City, three brothers, Steve Chandler, Phoenix, Arizona, and Danny Chandler, and Larry Chandler, both of Webb City, and one granddaughter, Dillen Chandler. He was preceded in death by his Father, Leroy Chandler.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Sarcoxie, MO Cemetery with Stan Parkison, Minister officiating. Military Honors will also be provided. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel.

EXETER, Mo. Margaret Louise Elliott, 79, formerly of Blythedale, Mo., passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007. She was a retired employee of South Barry County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Margaret Louise Elliott, age 79, of Exeter, formerly of Blythedale, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Monett Health Care, Monett, Missouri. Ms. Elliott, daughter of Luey and Ethel (Hungate) Elliott, was born on September 22, 1928, in Exeter, Missouri. She was raised in Blythedale, Missouri. She worked many years in North Missouri as a switch board operator. She returned to her grandmother's home in Exeter, Missouri in 1977 to make her home. She worked at South Barry County Hospital for nine years and retired in 1994. During her time in North Missouri she raised many kinds of animals. Her favorite included her sheep, baby calves, dogs, cats and even a pet deer. She also worked in a local General Store for a few years becoming close friends with owners of the store and continued that close friendship for the rest of her adult life. During her time in Exeter, Margaret loved traveling and shopping on her many outings and trips with Irene and Dewayne Day. Some of her other favorite pastimes were crocheting, scrap booking and time spent with her Church Family at the Exeter Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include several cousins and many friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30th at the funeral home.

'TUFFY' CARLAURORA - Alfred August 'Tuffy' Carl, 87, passed away at 10:45 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
He was born on February 25, 1920 in Lawrence County to August Henry and Fern (Sullivan) Carl. He was a World War II Army Veteran, was parts manager for the Chevrolet Dealer in Aurora for 20 years, retired after 20 plus years of service with the Southwest Manufacturing Company.
On December 24, 1946 he married Ramona L. Wolfinbarger in Kansas. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Vivian Bruner and husband, Lee, Springfield, Nancy Essary, Aurora and Darlene Litchfield and husband, Jeff, Cassville; one son, Darrell Carl Pierce, Kelso Washington; thirteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Sally Carl, one great grandson, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Graveside services, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 31st, in the Maple Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM, Tuesday, October 30th, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.

Karen L. Gaines Chambers, age 58, Joplin, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2007 at her home. Karen was born December 19, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to Doris Jones Gaines and the late Harry Gaines, Jr. and had lived in the Joplin area the past 15 years. She graduated from McCluer High School in Florissant, Missouri and was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Jackels, Florissant, Robert Jackels, Florida, Donald Jackels, Joplin; three grandchildren, Samantha Jackels and Chucky Jackels, both of Florissant, Eric Jackels, Florida; her mother, Doris Gaines, St. Ann, Missouri; a brother, Harry Gaines, III and wife, Carol, Saddlebrooke, Missouri; and a sister, Cheryl Gaines.
Karen has been taken for cremation.
Memorial services are planned for Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Thomas was born Oct. 4, 1955, in Johnson City, N.Y., to Elwyn and Mary A. (Musselman) McLain. He was a restaurant manager and a minister. Survivors include his mother, Mary McLain, of Melborne, Fla.; two brothers, Timothy McLain and family, of the state of Virginia, and Gerald McLain and family, of Paulbo, Wash.; and two sisters, Nancy Ockrin and family, of Crown Point, N.Y., and Nadine Barley and family, of Pflugerville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father on Oct. 2, 2002. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Crown of Life Chapel, 23rd and Annie Baxter. Larry Don Prier Sr., age 68, of Joplin, Mo.
, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center following an illness. Larry was born on Nov. 21, 1938, in Granby, Mo. He was the son of the late Floyd and Esther (Hobson) Prier. He was a lifetime area resident. Larry proudly served his country as a part of the United States Navy, earning numerous awards and medals for his service. Following his military career, Larry worked as a mechanic for United Airlines; also he was a display manager for Montgomery Ward; but his true love was art. He was part of the Angelic Ministry and was an active member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Larry married Jewell Butte in June of 1958, in Mountain View, Calif. She survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Larry Prier Jr. and his wife, Carla, of Fairland, Okla., Kevin Prier, of Joplin, and Randy Prier and his wife, Shannon, of Carl Junction, Mo.; one daughter, Leslie Hunter and her husband, Shane, of Diamond, Mo.; two brothers, Gary Prier, of Joplin, and Nelson Prier, of Spring City, Mo.; two sisters, Sandra Dean and Helen Chester, both of Joplin; and seven grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Sean Prier; and two brothers, Dennis and Norman Prier. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at Hornet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Mr. Prier to Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.
